Common workflows

Getting started

Create a blank reserve plan, start from a bundled template, or open an existing .hoaplan document.
Work through Assumptions, Components, Funding Scenarios, and then Forecast or Compare.
Use a template as a demonstration starting point and replace its fictional information with your own.

Plans and storage

Use Finder on Mac or Files on iPhone and iPad to name, move, share, and organize plan documents.
Duplicate a plan before exploring an independent alternative.
Avoid editing the same plan on multiple devices at the same time.
Let iCloud Drive or your selected file provider finish synchronizing before switching devices.

Funding and forecasts

Create manual or generated contribution scenarios and select the scenario you want to review.
Use Forecast to examine one scenario’s balances, cash flow, and funding adequacy.
Use Compare to review multiple contribution paths and reserve outcomes together.
Select a year with spending to see the component work behind the annual total.

PDF reports

PDF Options publishes one selected funding scenario for readers who do not use the app.
Choosing a report scenario does not change the plan’s active scenario.
A PDF is a snapshot. Export it again after changing the plan.
Review the completed report before distributing it.

Before contacting support

When practical, include:

The app version and build shown in Help & About.
Whether you are using Mac, iPhone, or iPad and the operating-system version.
A concise description of what you expected and what happened.
The steps that reproduce the issue and a screenshot if it helps explain the problem.

Reserve-plan documents may contain association-specific financial information. Do not email a plan or report unless it is necessary for the support request and you are comfortable sharing it through email.

System requirements

HOA Reserve Planning supports macOS 26, iOS 26, and iPadOS 26 or later.

Privacy

The app has no account system, analytics, advertising, or developer-operated backend. Review the complete privacy policy for details about local files, file providers, support email, and this website.

License and acknowledgements

When distributed through Apple’s App Store, HOA Reserve Planning uses Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

This app includes ZIPFoundation, open-source software used for local ZIP archive handling.
